a walk on the dunes

day 7 of our oregon road trip we were back on the road - this time making our way up to lincoln city for the night.

the sand dunes were on our route, and you know we had to stop there.

the oregon dunes just feel like you are on another planet.

you come out of what feels very much like a pacific northwwest coastal trail, and then all of a sudden you are just hit with a wall of sand that stretches farther than the eye can see. it feels like you are in a desert or have been teleported to mars.

it’s so wildly cool, and yet again i feel like our photos just can’t capture the feeling of standing on these mountains of sand.

i wondered how long you could walk before the dunes faded. but we didn’t want to get lost finding out.

so it was back to the jeep for some more road time.

next stop, lincoln city.
