an afternoon at proxy falls
Day 4 of our oregon road trip, we had big plans.
coffee.
chase a waterfall.
catch a sunset at smith rock.
this is part 2 of our day 4 quest. the waterfall we were chasing; proxy falls.
it needs to be said that the drive to the trailhead was beautiful. it was a gorgeous sunny day in bend, so we were a little surprised by snow as we drove into the mountains, and even though we both had to admit the drive was a bit dodgy in a few spots, we could not deny how beautiful everything looked in a blanket of snow. this was our first snow sighting of the Fall 2022 season and after about a one month draught in vancouver, we welcomed it with open arms.
the hike into the waterfall was lovely. a very chill 25 minute walk for the most part, with nothing but panoramic views and fall foliage all around us.
i feel like words cannot describe this waterfall, and photos - beautiful as they are - cannot capture just how stunning it was to witness in person.
The mist and the water flowing over the most lucious green moss was incredible. we both had such a hard time leaving this spot.
