watson falls to portland

day 8 of our oregon road trip we woke up in lincoln city, and were due to meet up with our friends in portland later that evening.

portland was only a couple hours of road away, so we took our time heading out of the hotel and decided to hit up a waterfall along the way. it was a bit of a detour to watson falls, but we heard you could walk behind this one, so you know we had to see it.

turns out watson falls is located in a park that boasts not just this one waterfall, but a whole walk of (i think 10) waterfalls. It was only about a ten minute walk to this one from the parking lot, so it’s a very easy spot to get to.

Just as we walked around behind the waterfall and were heading up the hill back to the trail, we looked back over our shoulders and the sun was shining in the most beautiful position illuminating the fall colours on the trees. It truly felt a little magical.

by the time we were done at this spot, our friends were messaging us saying they were in portland, so we hopped back in the jeep and set off for one more night in portland with the crew,

When we pulled into portland for the second time this trip, we couldn’t believe the difference in the weather. the skies were clear blue and the sun was shining. as we were getting ready to meet up with our friends, i couldn’t help but snap a few photos of the view out of our hotel room window, because the afternoon light shining in was just magic.

it was the perfect night to take advantage of our hotels roof top patio and a couple of drinks before we headed out to the matt’s bbq food truck.

the good news is, it was an amazing night. the bad news is… we were having so much fun, we didn’t take any pictures. but I guess that just goes to show, how good of a time it was.
