after 6 hours of driving, we finally pulled into the gravel driveway just after nightfall. As we unpacked the car, the Alberta air gave us a quick chill, but the second We opened the cabin door, we were hit with the warm and cozy cabin vibes immediately, and we settled in for a relaxing evening in heavy anticipation for the morning light to illuminate the cabin the next morning.

When we woke to the soft pink haze of sunrise, our view out the floor to cieling windows was nothing short of serene. A trail of warm yellow light trickled in through the branches and bathed the porch in a glow. sitting up in bed, We spotted two deer munching their morning breakfast on a faint path leading out to a forest of tall birch and pine trees. a magical morning scene is probably the best way to put it.

in the morning light, we were eager to explore the cabin. we turned on the fireplace before siftingthrough the record collection and popped leon bridges on to set the morning mood.

the fully equipped kitchen made homemade breakfast a breeze. we kept it simple with toasted bagels with butter, crispy bacon, and mugs of fresh pour over coffee.

we spent our entire first day at the cabin, enjoying each and every thoughtful part of it.

the screened in deck furnished with a cozy sectional and a gas firepit made for the perfect place to enjoy morning light.

as morning turned to late afternoon, we felt the pull of the outdoor firepit calling to us. we gathered some popcorn, a bottle of cider and a fluffy blanket and started a fire.

after a couple hours enojying the chilly outdoors, two Cups of warm soup, crusty bread, cheese and charcuterie in front of the camp fire seemed like the move for dinner.

as the sun set and the skies got dark once again, we were graced with the most beautiful starry night sky for a finale to our stay at home cabin day.
