portland moments
Day two of our Oregon road trip featured a pretty rad evening in portland…
we didn’t have a ton of time in the city, but we were lucky enough to be able to come back to the city for one more night to meet up with a few friends for the last leg of our trip.
the afternoon we first pulled in it was absolutely pouring rain. That said, neither of us could complain because after coming from two months of complete draught in vancouver we were both so happy to see the rain washing the city clean.
we were both pretty hungry after a day of driving from leavenworth washington, so we unpacked the jeep, got settled for a hot minute in the hotel room before throwing on our rain coats and taking to the streets to find food… oh and to do some shopping, because hey - no tax.
it didn’t take us long to find a rad taco joint where we each enjoyed a modello alongside a few tacos.
Shopping was next, and what would you know it, our favourite store filson was right across the street. shout out to the coolest sales associate ever working at the filson store. we hope you’re still there the next time we’re in town bro.
we hit up a few more shops and just cruised the city in the rain at dusk with our cameras. Immediately we spotted a mint retro beetle and couldn’t help but stop for a little photoshoot with it.
slowly the light faded and we watched as portlands lights lit up the city. there’s just something about walking the city at night don’t you think?
a week later we were back in portland to meet up with friends on the roodtop patio of the same hotel. we eneded up going to matts bbq food truck and shared a tray of goods. that spicy mac and cheese was life changing. ** chef’s kiss ** sadly we were a little too tipsy by this point to properly document the food with our cameras, so you’ll just have to take our word for itthis time… it was damn good.
The next day was another rainy one so we we did some shopping with the crew and secured a solid brunch at Cheryl’s on 12th - side note, the french toast and the beignets were freaking amaze - before heading off to seaside for the last couple days of our trip, which included jeep rides on the beach… but that’s a story for another day.
thanks for the memories Portland…
